Focusing on my sketch not really paying attention, I hear the two lovers talking and laughing about the project. It’s not like I’d be any help anyways. What’s the point of wasting my time just to have them ignore me and continue living in their perfect little world?

“Alright guys I’m so stoked about this presentation...” Ugh her voice is so full of energy. I can’t even look at her face without laughing my ass off. We’ll it’s not my fault that she looks like a clown. “...Oli love can you go get a pink bristol board from the cupboard? Thanks hun.”

He deserves better than her... oops! Crap that’s my last pencil too. Rummaging through the endless papers I find my iPod and a bit more shuffling reveals my cell.

“So baby any ideas in that gorgeous head of yours?”

Seriously why does he have to suck up to her like this? He seems to be a pretty smart guy. Wonder why he’s still with her.

“I was thinking the bristol board can be cut into game cards and it can be something similar to jeopardy.” Alright so she’s president of student council, captain of the basketball team and disproves the theory of having certain hair color means emptiness.

“Awesome idea! How about we make a power point and if you want I can put a video of the group making a mini skit. When’s this due anyways?”

“OOO I love the idea Oli but we should start brainstorming to make sure the skit is original. We have to get a good mark, especially you. Aren’t you on the borderline?”

Bored out of my mind I begin to search for a pencil or something so I can get back to drawing. “And we have to make sure to get the class involved. The project’s due Friday which gives us two days. Okay I don’t know how two people are going to pull off a thirty minute presentation but we’ll manage.”

Fine deny the fact that I’m in your group. So just because I am not as involved and excited about the project doesn’t mean she has to be a bitch and kick me out. I pick up a broken pen and begin doodling not really paying attention to the strokes and shadings.

A quick glance at the clock: 12:56. Ahhhhh another forty minutes with the owner and her pet puppy I swear if she doesn’t shut up I’m going to crack! Looking back down I drop my notebook in shock.

“Karolina she’s in our group. Just because she’s a mute doesn’t mean that she can’t write out her ideas.”

“Ugh she really needs a lesson in fashion because those clothes were so last semester. Oli we have no time to deal with slackers and mutes. You and I both need this mark more than she does. It’s not like there’s any future for that hopeless state.”

Well this day’s going just great. Now where’s my notebook? Ahhhh what the hell does he think he’s doing!!??

“Wow this is an amazing picture. Karolina she should totally make the visuals for the project like look at this.”

No don’t do that please....

“H-how...interesting” Glaring at me I turn my attention back to my iPod.

“Hey Syndy right? You’re drawings are kick ass it’s great to find another person with an interest in the arts. Have you ever taken an art class? Come on I know you aren’t a mute I’ve heard you singing softly in class sometimes.”

Why is he bothering me?! God there are 10 other girls in class he can interrogate. I have to make a mental note of keeping my mouth shut especially when listening to my iPod... holy shit!!!

“WOAH didn’t mean to freak you out!”

I look up and find myself centimetres away from him. Wow his eyes are gorgeous or is it just me? Smile playing on his lips I find myself leaning in closing the gap.

“Alright so this is yours. So do you have any ideas for the two person project?”

“Y-yeah. I like your idea of a mini skit but I was thinking maybe re-enact a classroom setting and have one of us be the teacher. Get the class involved by asking questions and the other two in the group will be sleeping or not paying attention.”

“So basically like a parody. That’s crazy! How do you come up with this shit?”

“Oli baby you’re seriously not saying that her idea is better than my jeopardy game.”

Snatching my notebook I continue my drawing listening to them; more like her snarling at him. He should stand up for himself he’s not committed to her I dunno whether to feel pity or disgust. She is so damn possessive and someone needs to put her ass in its place.

“I don’t care whether you find her idea interesting! We decided on mine and that’s the one we are going to use do you hear me Oliver!”

“Hey!” Alright so now what to say? *Gulp* since when did this project become a class involvement? “O-Oli has a r-right t-t-to his opinion and j-just b-because you m-m-may not agree with it doesn’t mean you have to start bashing at him.” I could feel the blood draining away from my face as she stared at me eyes flashing dangerously. Whispers begin to circulate and I see Oli give me a small smile.

“Fine you think you can do a better job at leading this project then....here. And Oli I see you’ve found a new interest but don’t come crying to me when you’re life falls apart.” Well this day can’t get any more dramatic. She is such a drama queen.

“Hey...thanks” Okay correction this day can’t get any more...Perfect! “Syndy?”

“Huh?”

“I have some ideas for visuals that we can draw.” I smile glad that I wasted my time on the puppy.
